About 9/10 years ago I put on youtube a video of Rhinos running in a wildlife park here in the UK. No one even looked at it until a few months ago. It has jumped now to 50,007 views with 66 subscribers
I am not complaining obviously but I don't understand why.

Go into your YouTube analytics and it will tell you where the views originated.

have done already Tom , the " Creator Monthly Newsletter " has more in it than the analytical one

So where are they coming from? Someone posted it up somewhere or are YouTube recommending it?

It is on my youtube channel
I know that, but where are the views originating. People must be finding the video from somewhere. The analytics tell you exactly what website or what youtube function is bringing all that traffic.
Usually when there is a sudden spike it's either been featured on YouTube recommends or someone has posted it on a popular blog

looked it up on my creators analytics which I have access to
they come from

Suggested videos 50%
browse features 38%
are the 2 main ones
