Strange thing happened on Sunday while "shooting" fell runners up on the moors near Sheffield. I'd taken images of them on their way out to Higger Tor and then moved position to await their return. After the first third of the field had gone through, there was a gap. Time to review the last few images to see what they looked like. Couldn't review them, they didn't seem to be there. The review was of a shot I'd taken at the very beginning of the race. What? Quick check of the settings. More runners on their way. Snapped them and now I was able to review them? I took 1,495 shots altogether. Is it anything to do with FOLDERS. My Nikon D7100 places 999 shots in one folder and then starts another. Had I just gone over that first folder in terms of images and trying to review it had sent me back to the beginning of the first folder?
I was pressing the joystick to go backwards, not forwards.
 
With over 300 runners coming towards you, it's impossible to know if anyone was missed. Photos uploaded and edited. I still have the photos on my card and I am able review across the folders. No idea what happened. Thanks for your reply @4wd
 
Put the card in the pc and see what folders are on it. If you have lost shots try a recovery program to see if they are still there. Ive had that before and there were two folders on the card.
