Umbrella choices for speedlites

It depends what you want to achieve, you'll get slightly more defined shadows with reflective, in fact if you're in a small space, controlling your lighting with a shoot through can be an issue as light bounces about all over the place.

But honestly, they're almost disposable, don't get sucked into believing you should buy expensive ones, they all break, treat them as a temporary asset

Phil's advice is sound but you could also try a Bowens, it's a shoot through with a silver/black slip cover and it is slightly better made than the generics.

I recently purchased these and they seem to do the job well. As mentioned above I also use one with a silver reflector and one of these in conjunction with Yongnuo 565 iii heads.
