uk to ireland, is there duty free?

Hi, am travelling to Ireland (Dublin) on monday, since it is out of the UK does it have the same duty free allowances etc as if I were travelling to spain etc.

Just wondering if I could pick up a new camera at the airport in manchester with the duty taken off

Good question actually. Im Irish, I live in dublin, and I travel to the UK regularly, and you know, I have never noticed the duty free set up. let us know when you find out.

its not Duty Free, but it is Tax Free

I travel between manchester and dublin most weeks. To be honest it is not any cheaper if anything more expensive than buying from the UK.

a pint of beer in n .ireland is about £2.70 in dublin about £5.00
there is no duty free
the cost of living in ireland is very high.
