This is incorrect information "but other than that it is nothing like buying
second hand as you have a 30 return and all other guarantees that you would have buying new from Amazon."
I am a great fan of Amazon Warehouse Deals but it is effectively buying
second hand.
This from Amazon's Warehouse Deals page
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000575793
" we sell customer-returned products that have never been opened but have slight box damage that prevents Amazon.co.uk from selling the product as "new". Most products sold on Warehouse Deals should be considered "used".
Warehouse Deals offers these products at a discounted price because they cannot be sold on the Amazon.co.uk website as new.
They also say elsewhere they they cannot offer a full manufacturers warranty because the item is classed as used.
Warrantries are used to maximise the used price of goods on TP and especially on eBay. In most cases a manufacturers warranty is restricted to the first purchaser and is not transferrable. Yes some manufactures will offer goodwill support.
To be bombproof you need a retailers dated receipt in your name.
Remember warranties are in addition to your rights under the Sale of Good Act and cannot remove/suspend or replace these rights.
