Tyre shine

I have a photo with a car tyre (mounted on a wheel). The tyre is clean, but lacks shine/lustre. Is there an easy way to give the tyre a makeover in PS and make it shine?

Interesting. I'd never thought of doing it that way.

When I'm shooting a car along with other detailing stuff I make sure I have some Swissvax Pneu handy, ive found it comes out better than other tyre products on photos as it is less shiny.

without seeing the image I would say yes you can do it

import your image create a new layer go to edit > fill and choose 50% grey
in the layer panel switch the blending mode of the grey layer to either overlay or soft light

Paint using white at various opacities to add highlights and paint in black to add shadows or just use the dodge and burn tools on this layer.
