Types of photography - ?

I was curious about exactly what sectors different types of photography come under - for example 'commercial' . It seems different websites quote different meanings. I'm working on some website content and just want to get this right.

commercial is pretty much anything commisioned by a company realy.
usualy for thier advertising/promotional purposes.
portrait is generaly for the public.
any more sectors?
