Looking for a nearby location for Sunday am (29th Sept) before heading home.

Can't seem to get down the piers and St Mary's lighthouse is plastic wrapped

We parked up a couple of miles outside Whitley Bay.
Old Hartley I think it was called.
Nice coastal walks to Whitley Bay in one direction and Seaton Sluice and Blyth in the other direction.

Try Cullercoats Bay, Tynemouth Priory.
If you cross the Tyne there is Arbeia Roman Fort with rebuilt gate house etc. South Shields Pier is open.
