As a spin off to Take Your Box Camera to Work Day a Flickr group has been created for people with box cameras that don't go to work or can't take their box camera into their workplace.

So this coming weekend 22nd/23rd March is Take Your Box Camera to Play Day.

I'm not going to list all the details, just go here http://www.flickr.com/groups/boxcameraday/ and take part if your interested.

I'm going to dig out an old camera and have a go.

I'll post up the results here when they've been processed.

Cool, tempted to swing by the car boot and get one specially. Though I've got a small collection of these already... meh, point and shoot cameras don't count towards the total.

That's rather timely as I took the front off my JB Ensign yesterday and cleared 80+ years of muck from the viewing lenses. I can now actually see an image through them. It gives me an excuse to put a film through it. Here's a quick iPhone shot of the camera...

What are the odds of not completely blowing out every shot if I put 5 year ood Fuji 400 iso through a box? I'm intending on developing it myself so I guess I could pull it a stop.

I don't have a box camera :( All I have is my grandfathers Certix folder from the 30s.

It's a bit late to get one from ebay for the weekend, they can often go for less than £10. I am sure that my JB Ensign cost less than £10. You might find one in a local charity shop.:)

Car boots are also a pretty good source, house clearance dealers are generally happy to be rid of them.

And I thought I'd shot with some strange looking cameras. I think you win this one Nick :0)
It is beautiful and made of Bakelite, I've already run one roll through it, it has some traditional quirks but it has a nice feel to it, hopefully today's landscapes will be just as interesting

It was a gift from fellow TPer CompulsiveHorder and Mrs Compulsive Horder at Christmas, you can't get better than a bit of classic twin lens goodness.
