Going tomorrow for the day, Has anyone been and if so what size lens would be best to take.
I have a 15-85 and a 70-200 and a 1.4 extender

at Twycross I would say 70-200 if it's 2.8
It's not the easiest of zoos for photography, some of the runs are very dark

After my recent visit I would agree on the 70-200. as others have said thought it isn't the easiest of places to photograph. I look forward to you pics :)

Wasn't impressed with the place really Poor light as stated bur most animal where caged forcing me to shoot thru wire fences or safety glass so didn't take many pics

@mark2002, I see from your profile you're in Nottingham. Have you tried Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster. Its the polar opposite, lovely open enclosures with plenty of places to take unobstructed photos.

Here are some from my last visit, YWP on Flickr

Thanks very much Chris I will look into that. Some great pictures there

That was my local zoo and went on several occassions. The monkey and parrot cages are of heavy thick mesh

but as others have said a 70-200mm should handle most shots there

Even so you should get at least some good shots of the other animal

Or take a look at me in the West midlands safari park with drive through enclosures
