Pre-Photokina 2008: To coincide with the announcement of Lumix DMC-G1, Panasonic has also announced two new Micro Four Thirds System zoom lenses; the LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S. and LUMIX G VARIO 45-200mm/F4.0-5.6/MEGA O.I.S. Both lenses offer Image Stabilization and produce an equivalent field of view of 28-90 mm and 90-400 mm respectively.

From the pictures in the magazines it looks too small to me. People complanied about the Canon 350D being small and the micro four thirds should be even smaller than that from what I've read. Perhaps they'll make nice cameras for girls and kids ;)
 
I fully appreciate that they haven't made it that small by accident but I wonder who the camera is for. You don't get many people saying they wish their camera was smaller, they want something substantial in their hands.

I hope that electronic view finders have come in the last few years because the one I had in my fuji was bloody aweful.

Its aimed at people who do not want to carry around a big SLR, yet still want the advantages of high quality, interchangeable lenses, and as a viable alternative for the current range or bridge cameras.

I work for a store that sells a lot of cameras (from cheap compacts to Nikon D3's) and size and wieght is actually quite a common issue for people new to DSLR's.
