I almost missed seeing this in the listings but having done so it's an unusual programme and should be rivetting so I thought I'd give a heads up on it.

It's called "Terror at 30,000ft" 9.00pm. Here's the write-up.

"The case of a holiday flight from Cardiff to Costa Brava which hits a terrifying electrical storm and battled the elements as it attempted to land-but just feet from the ground the runway lights fail."

Here's a different write-up.

Sometimes these programmes disappoint so, hopefully, this one won't.

Ha ha, this is not for anyone flying to the Costa Brava for their holibags tomorrow! lol

My wife said she won't be watching it. We're off to Tenerife in November and February :D

Typical hyping up of aviation stories. I don't know the details and haven't seen the programme, but the aircraft would have been on an instrument approach maybe down to minimums (500ft) and whilst it is very difficult to judge height in full darkness, the systems would have counted down the feet to the runway during the final descent, so that the pilot handling would know when to flare. Still, it makes for sensationalist viewing I guess. OTOH it make me want to start flying again!
