I'm trying to find a tutorial for adding reflections for people shots in photoshop, the sort of thing i'm trying to create is the popular studio shot with the pure white background, and the floor reflection that would normally be done using a perspex sheet on top of a white train, i've seen plenty of shot's on the forum, but sods law i can't find an example in a search now, anyway i'm sure most of you are familiar with the sort of thing i'm talking about, and as i don't have a perspex sheet at the moment, i'm trying to find a tutorial for photoshop to get the same affect, any help on this would be very much appreciated, many thanks in advance

Many thanks Tom, that's just the sort of thing i was looking for

No probs...........why not post one of your experiments?

The contact points with the ground are wrong, it looks like she's floating.

The reflections in the floor should all be in contact with the subject.

To get an idea of how it should look, grab a mirror, lay it flat, then put a soft toy or something similar on top.

Trying to do this well on people, in post, is not an easy task better to buy some perspex....

Yes i can see what you mean Jason, it's very hard in PP, and your right far better to use perspex, i will definitely be getting a sheet of it soon, thanks for your input :)

In that example it would be pretty difficult because of the angle & right elbow and left hand positions. I would expect the reflection to be able to show the back of the right elbow which obviously isn't in the photo. You can't show what isn't in the photo already. Or can you...content aware fill.....maybe not! ;)

If the photo was taken 100% level i.e. the elbow, hand and everything else that is in contact with the floor all being on an exact straight horizontal line, the mirror reflection would work just as it would in a lake scene.
