Turning off AWB balance on 7d ?

You don't. You need white balance in order to take a picture.

Curious, what are you hoping to achieve should you be able to turn it off?

Just pick a white balance rather than let the camera decide, I have mine set to daylight, but as I shoot RAW, I get to change it in DPP later if I need to.

If you shoot raw then the WB setting is just a piece of metadata that the viewer uses to render the colours.

I would suggest that you set the WB to a constant (daylight/tungsten/flash etc) dependant on what you are shooting, shoot raw and make any fine adjustments in PP.

Cheers !

Yes, I find auto works fine then PP in Elements Raw gets it bang on. If not just keep on changing on the menu for whatever conditions you shoot in.

Seems to be here for the 7D

Wow! I've never, ever, seen anybody recommend AI Focus for any Canon camera. Looks like the suggestions that KR is a moron may be right after all.
