Ok so i have a load of turf coming today and as luck would have it, its throwing it down. Will turf survive a day or 2 rolled up if its wet?

Yeah - should not be a problem unless it's sitting in water for a week or so.

I've seen it in the back of trucks for days at a time.

More importantly is the way it's laid and cared for.

This time of year it is pretty much dormant anyway, and hardly grows much at all. it should keep well enough, but will be heavy and difficult to lay.

Not really. Turf will start to go yellow 2 days after being lifted and after 3 it will deteriorate. Even though it wont grow much at this tile of year it still needs light to remain green. If it was delivered today good chance it was lifted Monday or earlier so I would get laid by Thursday at the very latest. If its not a large amount just unroll it where its going to be laid or on a patio/drive. Turf is best kept dry until laid. Even in summer it shouldnt be watered while rolled. Saturated turf is a bitch to lay, apart from being heavy as hell, it tears easily.
