On Friday morning I ordered a Samyang/Rokinon 7.5mm FE here in the UK for £259, I'm familiar with this lens, having owned it before.

After watching the video I have cancelled the order and ordered a TT instead at £147, what have I got to loose.

It comes from the US, Amazon tell me there are no added import duty to pay and VAT is included.

Make a change to play around with a different FE, should arrive in a weeks time.

You will be listed as the importer of record and act as the declarant for customs purposes, if this is needed. Your order may be subject to local taxes in the UK (or your delivery country) and if VAT does not apply, you are responsible for paying any taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by customs authorities in the UK or your delivery country ("Import Duties and Taxes") which are triggered by the importation by you of International Products into the UK or your delivery country. Where Import Duties and Taxes are due, as the declarant, you are solely responsible for paying these duties and taxes

Look forward to seeing the pics Dave and whether it gets through customs etc without a problem ? If yours goes o.k I’ll order one

Thanks gramps, you really cheered me up.

On the + side, £24 VAT has been taken already and is included in the £147.

First up

I didn't have to pay a penny more than the Amazon price of £147, and the package was delivered by RM.

And, it's not costing me anything to return it to the US either

The results are here...........https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4648248

I read somewhere that the build quality was a bit dubious, was that your experience?

It didn't endear me enough to want to play with it.

My initial reaction was "blimey" this is heavy.

The aperture 'click' stops are so sloppy as to be non-existent, the diastase scale seemed fine.

The push-on cap was a accident waiting to happen, short engagement and sloppy fit, first outing and one would loose it.

I think 'crude' sums it up best.

All IMVHO.

One gets what one pays for I suppose.
