TSO Host/Wordpress

Hi

I have purchased a Wordpress theme from Themeforest but I have no idea how to launch it from the control panel of TSO Host! Am I being dim??:shrug:

I think you need to install it and activate it in the wordpress CP in your admin area.

Themes are installed from the Theme headings in the Wordpress admin pages. First you need to install Wordpress, then log into wordpress and access the admin area.

Do you have FTP access to the site?

If so, upload the theme folder to:

wp-content/themes

Then go to the wordpress backend, click themes then activate your theme from there.

Argh!!

I tried using the simple wordpress installer on TSOhost. I created it and it now comes up with this:




To get started, you should log-in to the Wordpress admin area with the details below:

Username: ****
Password: **************

View your Wordpress site here: http://markbate.org.uk/

HOWEVER when I click that it just goes to the 123reg page which says "we have reserved this domain for one of our users" but that's me!

In my control panel on TSO host, it shows me this database name:

Path Database name
/ markbate_wpjgaz

So why the hell won't it take me to an admin page?

Also, when I tried to actually download Wordpress itslef, I opened the link given here:

# Unzip the package in an empty directory and upload everything.
# Open wp-admin/install.php in your browser. It will take you through the process to set up a wp-config.php file with your database connection details.

When I open wp-admin/install.php it brings up this page of mumble syaing:

WordPress
Error: PHP is not running

WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.

Can anyone help?

if you host with 123-reg they allow you to install word press via the hosting control panel - have you tried that
