Trouble with upload colours (CS3)

I've been working on a cross-processed shot for this months comp. I have the shot posted in the comp, but it looks way different to how it looks in CS3. I thought I'd sorted this issue out yesterday with my 52 shot by setting the proof setting to monitor RGB and the working space to sRGB, but my shot still looks much darker, higher contrast and over saturated compared to how I processed it. Help? Pleas.

convert the profile to srgb in edit, convert to profile

Lea, that is all set. I've checked and double checked. i'm guessing it's got something to do with my gamma settings not matching the monitor because I tried a new graphics card last week and lost all my usual settings.??

ok sry dean, you could be right about your settings. you may need to Re-calibrate.

Unfortunately I cannot calibrate. My calibration device doesn't work with this graphics card control center. That's why I tried a different one.
