Hi All..

I'm off to South Africa on Friday morning. Just realise I totally forgot to order my monopod from eBay.

My Tripod is also too big to take with me... as it won't fit in any suitacases.

Do you think this will cause many problems (if I don't take one)? Just for taking shots at the beach, around the house etc?

What would you think about taking this one?

Thanks,
Amnesia

That's the really tiny tiny one isn't it?

It might just work with the 18-55 but you'd probably struggle with the other two lenses. I still have one of those around somewhere and I've always thought it utterly useless but keep it because it's just so cute. Which in fairness is really why I bought it in the first place.

Okay, I think i'd rather just go without then.

I won't have time to get to a photography place and try to find a monopod, so I may have to look at Dixons in the Dutry Free area of Heathrow when I get there!

It's just a shame the tripod I already have won't fit! Grrr.

Just wrap it in a bit of bubble wrap and send it through with the baggage. Pretty much what I've always done with mine and had no problems...... yet.

haven't always bothered with the bubble wrap either but I get worried that the tripod is bouncing around knocking seven bells out of peoples cases.

So do you think they would let me send it seperately?
Even with the new scare at Heathrow airport?

Hmmm... maybe if I strap it to the top of my normal baggage....

I'll see :-)

It's no different to taking a set of golf clubs or skis.

A quick call to the airline should tell you for sure.
