if your tripod has a removable plug at the bottom of the centre column, it works well................ (y)

drilled out the plastic plug a faction smaller than the hook threaded boss and force screwed it in

(not enough room for a locking nut) - when almost closed, a smear of SuperGlue on the rim ...perfect

.

Be aware that this can actually cause tripod movement if the wind causes whatever you’ve hung under it to sway or oscillate.

Super glue can't be trusted - it isn't waterproof and it is very brittle. It's very effective short term, but won't last.

I think there's a VERY good chance this will fail you. :(

thanks for the info
the column end plug hole was drilled undersized so
the hook boss required a great deal of effort to screw in - so quite confident...... :)

I got this for my Gitzo. It’s all metal, no moving parts. It’s literally a screw thread with a rubber gasket.

Thanks for the link I will have a look.
Did you get a nut to screw behind the plastic cap of the Silk centre coloumn ! ?..

no room inside the column cap to use a locking nut hence

9mm drill then a round file till the hook screw is a very tight fit
