Yes
I am a long way off buying a decent tripod, but often see threads about them, and lots of people seem to go for ball heads, but it seems (or am I wrong again ?) that few go for the pistol drip type as pictured here (I hope)
Why - is it cost, or are they not so easy to use - I played with one a while back and thought it seemed pretty easy to use - any thoughts, and if anyone has one for sale soon, let me know....

Steve,
Glad to see you're back again...all okay I hope?

I've replaced a ballhead with a grip (probably the one pictured). I find it easier to position a long lens or macro using one of these as there's no tendency to topple as ballheads can when used one handed.

I've stuck with a T and P for static and landscape shots though.

I've had the 322RC2 as pictured for the past few years, but want to upgrade soon.
The grip is very fast and easy to use, it locks as soon as you release, but I find that it changes a bit after you release it - only a tiny bit, but noticable, so I can't frame as accurately as I would like.

Hi Steve,

I will be putting one of these (pictured) up for sale over the weekend having just purchased a Manfrotto 468 RC2.

Chris :)

I have always had one, and now use it on my Monopod after changing to a different type of tripod head.

Lovely feel and so quick and easy.

Gary.

I have had mine for 2 months and really enjoy it's ease of use.
Can be used on the folded/unfolded tripod as a monopod head.

Welll, that all sounds pretty positive - PM's for items for sale might just be replied to ..!
My only problem might be raising the money so soon, but I'll do what I can if the price is right !
Canon Bob - hello ! I am alive, in plaster, ankle screwed up and will be hobbling about again in about 10 days, but have to keep my foot elevated at present, so finding life rather slow and boring at present..

I am getting the 322RC2 soon with my new tripod. I like how you can change it from right handed to left handed so you can move it with the left and still have your finger on the shutter.
Or alternatively you can get a electroic release to fit on the grip as well.
