I'm new to photography. I bought a canon 500d with tamron 18-270 mm lens for outdoor photography as I was going on a holiday. Now I'm using it for portraits as well as bit of outdoors (landscapes and architecture) can you please suggest a good tripod for the above said purpose

How much do you have to spend on one?
You can get a red snapper 283 or 284 with a 3-way head delivered for around £65.
If I hadn't just bought one from another forum member that exactly what I was going to buy.

I have a Giottos tripod, head plus a monopod for out and about with my big baby. I've found them great. The tripod and head cost about £150. The monopod, I can't remember but is robust and I'm pleased.

Many previous threads on this matter have recommended Redsnapper
