Hi All,

My tripod has been broken for around a year, and I haven't got another one since....

However, yesterday (because I wanted to make a light box) i figured out the bit that is broken actually just unscrews and I could replace the entire part (can't believe I haven't tried that before).

However, I have looked on the Jessops website and can't find a replacement anywhere...

Any suggestions?

I could well be wrong but you're probably looking at a new tripod. Bearning in mind these are almost certainly made in Taiwan/China, sourcing and getting a part will mean than a new tripod will be cheaper (due to any shipping and duty costs).

Oh okay...

Well that cost me £40, and whilst it sounds cheap, i'm going on holiday in 10 days and don't want to spend £40 on another one.

I can get a a medium hight one (i.e: for a table top or something that comes half way up my body) for £20.... for a light box, I think that will be plenty big enough... but what else would I use a small tripod for?

Macro...

I could well be wrong, but if the parts can't be located in the UK then shipping will probably cost more than the tripod is worth...

If I still had a spare tripod, I'd have lent you mine, but has recently been sold on here..

Sorry can't be any more help....maybe the parts exist on other brands of tripod...

I did hear rumours that the Jessops ones are rebranded Hamas, so that might be another direction to take...maybe someone has one for sale who might seperate for parts etc. May be worth asking on here, in the wanted section...

Hmmm,

Dunno if they are the same

Thanks for the help :)

I might get the smaller one, and then wait until next pay cheque (after the holiday) and invest in a decent full size tripod.

I guess it doesn't hurt to have one for macro stuff and the other for everything else :)

Apologies, I did not see this (as I replied before it was posted).

They are different, and I think the bolt looks ever so slightly thinner...

The thickest part of my bolt (near where those spikey bits are) is around 23-25mm.

Edit: The spikes that clip into the tripod to change the camera from horizontal to vertical look slightly different too...

You could modify the tripod to make a stand for a flash and brolly or a reflector.

Yep, slightly different. :(

It is a Jessops monopod that I never use now and was thinking of selling on here.

No worries.
