Hi All,

My wife and I are going to Dalhousie Castle just outside Edinburgh at the end of October.

Could anyone suggest any great photo locations up in that area of the world. I have done alot of searching, and have the odd location, but nothing really amazing.

If anyone can advise of any locations, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks
Gene

The view over Edinburgh from the top of Calton Hill is pretty good...NOT one to visit at night though! ;) Of course with good weather and a clear day you'd have to go a long way to beat Arthur's Seat....bit of a hike though!

The main hills - Calton, Blackford, Aurthurs seat. (Calton can be dodgy at night, blackford has the potential to be and so does aurthurs seat)

south queensferry is good day or night, or dusk!

The castle is always good - costs a bit, but if you go there for 1 oclock, you get to see them fire a big gun!

Pick up a guide book - theres loads, but I don't do the tourist run much :o

Head east from Edinburgh to North Berwick and follow signs for Tantallon Castle. Excellent spot.

Thanks for all the advice guys, will plot a course, and who knows, maybe even show a pic or two depending if I am any good or not.

Thanks again

Hi there I live in Edinburgh and you can't beat the view from the top of Arthurs seat. Calton hill is great too, even on a misty/rainy day. The view from the top of the museum is a cracker also. Enjoy.

Hi i live in edinburgh , some parts are lovly and some parts are horrible , great places to go are Arthers seat , The Pentland Hills , The Water Of Leith , Carreck Know golf Course , edinburgh castle , Forth Road Bridge lots more good places around if you look tho

Roslyn Chapel is definately worth a visit, steeped in history and myth with the de vinci code coming out on DVD mid October you can watch the film then go to the place where they shot some of it. Just outside edinburgh, about 20 min drive by car.
