Yes
Morning,

I use my EOS500 with Hilite and Interfit INT182 EX150 Mark II Two Head Kit, one head in Hilite and the other with Softbox, im planing a high key kids shoot and need to use the white vinyl train. Problem is, will i get enough light on the train with just one head in the hilite? should i get another head (another INT182 kit)? or a different head and use that with the softbox? your thoughts?

Also i use a sync cable from camera to softbox head, how could i avoid this without using the built in flash to trigger the heads? i need to be able to move around more without a tripper wire.

Many Thanks

Using a train is difficult to get white. Almost impossible without very careful balancing of the lights and exposure, plus a bit of post processing to clean up the inevitable grey bits. There are lots of threads about it. Get some practise ;)

You really need two heads in the HiLite to get it evenly white for full length work.

Radio triggers are easy and cheap. Favourite is the Yongnuo RF-602, about £40 a set from Amazon. You only need one of course, and the other heads will optical-slave off that.

Thanks, i heard it was tricky with the train and the kids shoot will be practise as im doing it for family and told them no guarantees.

Will check out some wireless triggers.

Now looking at more flash lights not too expensive as this is a hobby, actually i have a 580EX II, could i utilise this?

Yes, you could probably use the 580 - I use two of them for the background.

Main problem is slow recycling at the sort of power levels you need, so raise the ISO and lower the f/number if needs be to try and keep it around 1/4 power - that speeds it up no end. Fresh batteries, and have a spare set handy.
