Hi Guys,

I'm guessing this is the right place place to post - if not feel free to move.

I'm travelling to SE Asia for a month will be spending a week in Borneo (trekking in the Jungle looking for Orangutans). Has anyone got any practical tips/advice for looking after their kit in these conditions?

I was a bit worried about humidity getting into the lenses etc?

Any advice appreciated

I've got a D60 & 18-200 & 35mm lenses.

Cheers

No one?

For those interested the best I advice I could find find was get waterproof zip bags and big bags of silica gel. Fingers crossed.....

Enjoy the trip...we canceled a similar but ended up in Costa Rica...at the time we did not have a DSLR but the shutter speed was realy slow in the ultra zoom we had at the time

Didn't have my DSLR when I went, but had my camcorder on me, which handled the humidity fine. The only problem I had was that the DEET would come off with my sweat from my face/head and land on the camera - this corroded all the wording on the camcorder, but it was just pretty concentrated stuff.

If you get a chance to go and visit an Iban village I would throughly recommend it.
