Travel -planes

Bend the knees and not the back.. be careful when opening the overhead locker as things may fall out.

And please make sure your seat is in the upright position for taxi, takeoff and landing.

In all seriousness though, what's the question? You keep it with you as carry on luggage :)

Hi Does any one have advice on taking Tog gear on planes.

Do not put your camera in the hold

check you airlines carry on requirements measure your bad so that you know you dont go over the limits and weigh it too. you wont be able to take a tripod on with you so that will need to go in your main bag.

Be prepared to to have your bag scanned about 5 times because they cant work out what the hell the huge lump is when you take a huge zoom lens away with you.

Take it on the aircraft in a decently padded bag - never had a single problem and suprisingly never been stopped once despite the various odds and sods I carry in the bag. A bit of common sense and there's really no issue whatsoever

Hi

As above check with airline, some of the cheapies, ryanair, easyjet have a smaller size than others, so they catch people all the time, then you have to put it in the hold.

As everyone has said, common sense, take it as hand luggage and you'll be fine. Don't have any sharp objects in there and be prepared to remove the camera from the bag to be scanned. I recently took a Lowepro flipside 350 on easyjet without any issues.
I tend to put the bag under the seat in front rather than in the overhead compartment.

Have just arrived back from holiday, took a Vertex 300 which weighed in at about 10kg, no problems at all taking it as hand baggage with easyjet.
