I don't think anyone would have been trapped, as per the title of this thread. As the carriages have multiple doors.

Police were asking local youths on the train for witnesses, but they came up against a brick wall.
 
They are scouring CCTV footage looking for people showing signs of hod behaviour.
But have, so far, found no concrete evidence.
