transferring material off a skybox

i have some programs which i recorded onto my skybox, however i'd like to take them off the box onto either a hd or hd-recorder so i can make dvd copies. does anyone know if this is possible to do?

as far as i know the data on a sky box is encrypted.

If you have a DVD recorder as part of your TV setup, there is a copy function which records programmes realtime. Alternatively you can use a TV capture card to do the same thing to a computer, again in real time. A quick search on Google will give you some solutions. I looked the other day as we were going to have our box replaced and would lose everything on the old box. Unfortunately there is no way of just dragging and dropping from one HDD to another.

You can copy the programs from your Sky Box with a program called Copy+ BUT it will only transfer the content from 1 hard drive to another for example if you wanted a higher capacity hard drive in your Sky Box. See http://www.skycopyplus.co.uk/

You will NOT be able to watch the programs on your computer as they are encrypted.

You can record direct to DVD from you Sky Box (but not ALL programs) and you cannot do any editing i.e. remove adverts, but note this will be Standard Definition only
