Are there any trade publications that pros (or indeed non-pros) subscribe to? Other than the standard off-the-shelf mags you can get in Tesco.

Is anybody in the marketing industry, specifically any area of which that would "buy" (or licence) images for their work? Are there any trade mags for this industry too?

I'm just trying to find out where the likes of Getty, Alamy, iStock, Photographers Direct, Absolute, etc advertise their services, both to the contributors and end-users. I appreciate that the bigger-boys probably don't have to do too much advertising, but the smaller-players must have to make the presence known somewhere...

Cheers

I'm not sure if its the same with photography, but I would imagine for a specialist photographer in houses as an example that a residential development company would look in the back of Estates Gazzette ot Property Weekly for people who specialise in houses (I know the company I worked for used it) or in the case of marketing you would need to advertise in a marketing magazine to reach the companies who are doing the marketing of whatever is required. Marketing week is pretty good but its expensive to advertise there!

I may be way off the mark, but if I was looking for a photographer I would be hunting in a paper or magazine covering the sphere that I wanted pictures of and a photography magazine would not be the first place I'd be looking.

Edited to add - I would think the names you have given would use search engine rankings, internet advertising and direct approaches to marketing agencies, publishers etc.
