Hi guys,

This is an idea. Seeing as seeds can be quite pricey and we have a small chance of them germinating (had quite rubbish ones in the past from unwins etc) would it be beneficial to us and the ol' environment to do something different, remember that store bought seeds are from plants grown usually in lab environments with no true strength to last a year outdoors while the plants that we have in our gardens year after year have the British climate 'coded'.
The idea is literally this list what you have, and then perform a straight swap by sending the seeds in a second class envelope, the benefit here is it's free and there's no fix or haggling on what's being swapped.

I have over 80 hardy, perennial, annual plants that have been in my garden for years including some trees etc that are doing well, I also have a large veg plot with lots of different onions, garlics etc that I'm more Han happy to do a straight seed swap etc.

Is it worth a go?

Could be a good idea, but it may be the wrong time of year. We could have lots of seeds, but didn't keep any in the autumn, because we have enough already, so won't be able to take part till next September-ish.

Not a problem, it all depends on the thread taking off etc. The reason I have started it now is because my new batches will need sowing this month, the Garlic has just started digging itself aswell as the other onions, plus I have a s***e load of seeds from last year :)

Got some Lupin seeds should anybody be interested.

I harvested some as a project/learning exercise for my little one, we collected, dried and stored them and have had a number of plants germinate and flower for our efforts, my little one was well chuffed

I have the following:

Yellow poppy
Lilac poppy
Hollyhocks
Foxglove
Garlic
Leek

I'll compile a list later as the above is just what I put in the freezer to kick start etc :)
