How have you found the 2015 TP52?

What have you learned?

What is your best submission?

Any memorable submissions by others?

Finally, are you doing it next year :jawdrop:

I'm off to bed as I have an early start for Northumberland in the morning but will post my thought soon

Cheers.

I have a few minutes to spare so I thought I'd hop in here.

How have I found the 52's this year ....slightly traumatic at times :) I almost dropped out mid summer when I was ill with food poisoning, I was so far behind I felt completely daunted by the thought of catching up, but I missed it so much I made the effort, caught up with eight weeks submissions, and here I am, still thoroughly enjoying the challenge every week. I'm really glad I made the effort, the challenge makes me think in a creative way that probably wouldn't apply to 'normal photos' and that spurs me on each week, trying to do something a bit different.

What have I learned ...definitely a lot from those much more experience than me, I hopefully manage to 'look' with a more intelligent eye. Little things, like keeping horizons straight, reflections, cropping so it looks 'just right', and generally ending up with a shot that's eye catching. It doesn't always work of course and often I look at everyone else's submissions I think 'why didn't I think of that' :runaway:

There are so many really super shots on the thread, I started trying to single out my favourites but there were just too many, there are also lots missing, including my own ...I misunderstood a new link to the ipad from Flickr and 'accidentally' deleted loads of photos, thankfully I've recovered most of my 52's and put them back into my Flickr. But one mention I will give is of Steve @69Bonni for this one which I think sums up the 52's ....we all have a moan about it, it but in the end it has to be fun ...and this has to be one of the strangest and funniest photos of the year.

My own favourite submission is this one ....a macro of a tiny hydrangea flower. Purely because it sums up why I'm so glad that took up photography a few of years ago .....because it not only makes me 'look' but it also makes me 'see' so many things that may otherwise have gone unnoticed, whether it's sunlight through the trees, a daisy in a field, the dew on a blade of grass, or a lonely soul sitting on a park bench ....I am very much more aware of my surroundings and my life is all the richer for it.

Will I be here next year ...absolutely yes :)

I joined some way through the year - around Week 22 as I remember. Being presented with a theme prompted me to think about the subject but, more importantly, gave me the will and enthusiasm to get out and about with my camera. It was such a refreshing experience that awaiting the weekly theme to be announced became quite tormenting. The solution in those early weeks was to work backwards and catch up on missed themes so I wasn't long in making up for lost time. That's not to suggest that the weekly themes were easy - quite the contrary, many challenged my imagination as well as photographic skills. Now, I find myself spending more time savouring and considering each theme before making a submission as a means of reducing the "long" wait for the next. I look forward to exchanging comments with fellow TP52's and have learnt a lot as a result. Participation is self-paced and managed in a lighthearted yet encouraging manner - a friendly and helpful community. I'm not sure I can offer a best submission from my entries ... I know which I consider to be the worst (subject to a re-shoot if another opportunity is offered before year end). There have been any number of great images by others that I have admired; it would be very hard to select just one ... but I will mull that over.
