Today I had a really humbling experience....I spoke to a lovely lady, who informed me that she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was 72 years old and her biggest fear was facing a long agonising end to her life, she had a MRI to see the extent of damage to her body, only to be told that it had spread to her lungs, but in addition to the cancer she had an aortic aneurysm, which according to her consultant, she is "a dead woman walking". What is amazing that she has accepted her fate and knows that she could be gone in a single breathe, we talked about her arrangements she has made for her funeral, going into space in a firework.....her passion for life is amazing but equally the bravery that she has is even more powerful... truly I am totally in total awe of this amazing woman who, before today, I had never spoke to.......it really makes me appreciative of the life blessing that I have....

Simply hitting the "like" button somehow does not seem appropriate in this case. It deserves more.
We should all appreciate what good we have in our lives because everything can change in an instant and, with it, our priorities.
I know life is not fair and we all have our little (or big) problems, but let's stop for a minute to appreciate what we do have.

Can't argue with that, having just lost my sister has made me realise that life is precious, and sometimes far too short.
Good luck to the lady, hope she doesn't suffer too much

Good man for not being too busy or self-fulfilled to listen to her either. :)

Any other stories to help brighten our day up ............. :D

It's long been my hope that when my time is up I don't shuffle off this mortal coil but leap off it in a single, mighty bound! I watched both parents shuffling all too slowly towards the inevitable and suffering the loss of dignity and control that long, lingering deaths involve and wouldn't wish it on anyone. If either of them were pets, their owners would have been prosecuted for making them suffer but because they were human, they had to be kept alive at almost any costs.

Mike, I hope the lady enjoys all the LIFE she has in front of her and goes out in a blaze of glory rather than suffering a long period of existence after her life is over and am glad that you've been inspired by her story.

You can never be too busy to listen to people, you never know, they may not have anyone else to have a Brenig word with web. You meet them in the supermarket.. I do believe in the given 2 ears for a reason, use speech wisely after listening!
