Ah, I have an answer for that you need to install it as a plugin with a utility there is a link and instructions here

Panic over.
I rebooted my PC and it's now working.
What a palaver!

Ah, OK you don't need the utility its there for people having an issue getting it to work with photoshop

According to their install guides, you should close Lightroom/Photoshop, install Studio and it should then appear in the "Edit in" menu of LR or the "Filter" menu of PS, so there doesn't seem to be any distinction between using it as a stand alone or as a plug in.

Thanks. It did all that. The secret seems to be rebooting the computer. After I did that everything seems OK. Used my original details and downloaded it no problem.
Hopefully it's all sorted now.
