Just wondered if anyone had tried it out and what they thought? I do have Topaz Studio, but tend to use it more for creative processing.

Anyway I downloaded it yesterday and had a quick try out this evening.

All images were jpg's and had no other processing, all images cropped from 6000x4000pixels to 1000x666pixels: Gear: Canon 800D with Sigma 150-600mm C

The original image, 1:1 crop

The second image was using the AI Stablize Mode using the default 50:50 options

First image is the original with no processing, 1:1 crop

Second image was using AI Focus Mode using the default 50:50 settings

One thing I did notice was that the Stablize mode did create more artifacts than the Focus when viewed at greater than 1:1.

Compared to the Nik Efex Output Sharpener, both Topaz tries created less noise in the background.

It was a free update for me so I've grabbed it but not had chance to try it yet

Once you go beyond 1:1 viewing then there's a separate routine generating pixels to display and they're not part of the processed image....that's not to say that the artifacts are not there at 1:1 though.

The last photo does not look as good as it may if put through JPEG to RAW which not only recovers detail to provide a sharper image but also gets rid of a lot of noise without sacrificing fine detail.
