Top Gear - new series - Stig Revealed

Wouldn't surprise me if it turned out that most of the Ferrari laps from the past year or 2 had been driven by Scummaker.

I have a feeling that he's still not allowed to drive competitively in anything other than FIAT products and it could be argued that the star/car thing is a competition.

One last point; pretty much the only rule in the fast laps is that the car can go over a standard British speed hump. NO WAY would the FXX manage that, so it should be disqualified.

Speedhump??? Looked like it would struggle to get over a pebble!

Considering the Caparo T1 did it in 1:10.60 and that was banned for not coping with speedhumps, but was road legal unlike the FFX, the FFX should definitely be banned

ye i thought they would have taken it off the board, as from where i was watching, there was no way it would go over a speed bump.

but.. there is a german tuning company that have made the FXX road legal....

Anyone get the feeling that the underlying who is the stig theme could be continued each week?

I wouldn't put it past TG to "reveal" the real stig each week!!

laughed hard when he said he drove a fiat..of course he does, he is fiats bitch

Some say he is powered by liquid sauerkraut, his beach towel is made from asbestos and his first words were Die Jonny English Die!

;):D

def not shumacher....I thought the interview was great though. shumacher came across so well...very charming and affable.

but someone else driving his car??? not likely. one of 30 in the world and presented to him by ferrari??? I wouldn't let anyone else drive that if it was mine!

great episode though.

Yea, deffot Schumi in the FXX. Clearly hes not the regular Stig. I HOPE there is a single regular Stig, but the more I think about it the more I believe the Stig 'idea' just allows TG producers the flexibility of gettings rare cars in by allowing their owners, or car-maker's staff to drive them in anonymity.

There is indeed a regular Stig that does most of the regular stuff, but they will use others for some specialist stuff, such as the FXX and when they took and F1 car round the track, that kind of thing. Ben Col...sorry, Stig is a very capable driver that knows that circuit like th eback of his hand and as with PM before him, most manufacturers would trust him with their wares, much more so than the people they plan on selling them to!

However, the FAR more important question is this >> WHAT will Fifth Gear do to try and top the FXX/Stig stunt?

Watched it today, good episode, and though Schumacher handled the interview quite well.

Notice how he didn't take his eyes off Clarkson though? I don't mean that in a gay way of course, more a confident / silently wary way

Guys your all wrong. Its not Schumacher or Ben Collins, its me!! And all will be revealed soon:

hehe

I wore my "I am the stig" t shirt out last night to the cinema and pub for a swift one...
lots of comments, generally being..." no you're not!"

I think that the stig is a regular single driver
it allows them to keep to contract and also the comments made by clarkson indicate that this is the case. it means the powerlap times are more consistent and also
when he was talking about the F1 lap times on the track with Hamilton he expressly mentioned that the Stig takes the same line as he did, other drivers don't
just makes me think that for most stunts the stig is a single person

however, I wouldn't be surprised if they keep rolling out other famous drivers for the odd stunt. it is a pop magazine after all

just watched it, and now im curious. im assuming it was schumacher driving the ferrari, but was the time difference the driver or the car??

A bit of both IMO. Of course, the FXX should be DQed from the power lap chart since it's not road legal and couldn't clear a speed hump.

I would be interested to know how many practise laps MS had before setting that time and would also like to know what time the "real" Stig could do in it. Car familiarity would give some advantage but track familiarity should probably be more of an advantage.

he did 5 laps i think, if you go to top gears website theres behind the scenes footage of him doin the lap and also of the show in general, plenty of proof that hes not the stig.
