I wrote about this and would like to share with you a summary of it. I hope you will like it.
  1. Nylon Camera Straps: Lightweight & versatile, perfect for travel & outdoor photography. Smooth texture for easy camera movement, padded for even weight distribution & long-lasting durability.
  2. Leather Camera Straps: Stylish & sturdy, ages beautifully & molds to your shoulder over time. Classic & sophisticated look, requires care but rewards with luxury & lasting service.
  3. Neoprene Camera Straps: Ultimate comfort for extended shoots, excellent shock absorption eases neck & shoulder strain. Water-resistant, ideal for all weather conditions.
  4. Woven Camera Straps: Artistic appeal with vibrant patterns & designs. Comfortable & durable materials, great for expressing your personality through your gear.
  5. Suede Camera Straps: Stylish & functional, soft & gentle against the skin for prolonged use. Comes with leather reinforcements for added strength & sophistication.
Conclusion: Choose the ideal camera strap material that suits your shooting style & gear weight. Whether it's the versatility of nylon, elegance of leather, comfort of neoprene, creativity of woven materials, or sophistication of suede, find the perfect fit to focus on capturing incredible moments with ease & confidence.

An interesting read. I'll confess that I have not tried most of them and wonder if examples of brands that use the materials would be useful?

I'm trying to decide now how much I like my Peak Design Slide but apathy makes deciding on a better replacement difficult!

Oberwerth leather camera strap is by far the comfiest I’ve ever owned. Similar length to a super telephoto lens strap for a “short” one but the quality is literally luxury.

I have a PD Lite? Slide but tbh I don't regularly use it. I have it more for the ease of attaching than the style or look of it.

I have a Slide. It is fine and ease of attaching probably the best bit of it but I think would be up to change for something better. That said my apathy would diminish if I found a real problem with it.

We pay a lot for bags, straps and other paraphernalia and pretty sure that I have never had something that works fully for me and end up with several of each.

Paracord seems a good compromise between comfort and strength.
Optech are good too, think they are Neoprene or at least the neck pad is.

I’ve tried quite a few and ended up most comfortable with the original canon and Fuji straps supplied with the camera bodies and lenses.

I have various camera straps and I find my most useful is the Black Rapid Breathe, I also have a Peak Design wrist strap on the camera as well. While these two fixings fulfil a definite purpose, what I'd like is a standard neck strap that can be very quickly fitted to the camera eyelets rather than having to thread webbing through them. I just want it for when I'm just grabbing and going with a D850 fitted with a 50mm lens. Anyone suggest such a thing?

Never mind, PD Slide fits the bill.
