Good morning. We returned from our trip yesterday to Tokyo - back with a stop over in Dubai.

I was given a recommendation of a photographer to do a photowalk on another thread. We booked him for the day. It was excellent; the best day of the trip. We went after we had done the touristy bits. He was helpful, knowledgeable and it was very easy chatting to him. My wife came along too and really enjoyed his insights.

Lee went there for 2 years around 20 years ago. We went off the tourist track to see some older parts of the city.

I asked him for his details:

he also mentioned that he did walks in other cities too.

thanks for posting this, we're looking into visiting Japan in 2026, this looks right up my street i'll have a better look at your links this evening

I used Lee last year when I spent ten days in Tokyo and thoroughly enjoyed my day walking around some less touristy streets of this massive city and I came away with plenty of pictures that I was very happy with especially the entrance and old shops inside Asakusa Station which I would never of found without his help and advice.

I'm glad that you had a great time and I wholeheartedly agree that Lee is an excellent guide and if I'm ever back in Tokyo I'll book him again. As a solo traveller it was one of the best days on my trip. I think he does photowalks in Osaka too but not 100% on that.

We had a great time; I didn't really know what to expect and it was very enjoyable.
