Tips required for shooting motor racing

I go to a lot of different races but never taken the camera to have a proper shoot.

I am going to a hill climb at the weekend and was wondering if you could spare a moment to give me some tips on how to achieve some good shots.

Some idea of settings etc. would also be good.
