Tips on using flash

Just after some tips on how to use/get better using a flash gun that is attached to the camera.

I will be learning OCF at some points but I just want to start with the basics like TTL and how to practice using it etc.

Any advice would be great.

Just heading down the same road!
As a starter for 10, manually set ISO800 so you blend in more background, bounce the camera off the ceiling 1st, then start trying light-coloured nearby walls:

Bouncing the cam makes a nice big soft light coming in from more flattering off-camera angles.
