How long should you wait before you decide to sell gear? There are a few lenses and a speedlight that I haven't used for ages and ages. Should I sell them or hang on to them, just in case? Sold a Nikon 105mm macro a few years ago and have regretted it.

If you need the money, sell them.
If you dont, keep them.
 
Sell them. If you even need them again just re-buy. They’re losing money all the time so cut your losses now, if you want to buy again in future then you’ll likely buy at a lower price.

No point hoarding stuff for a ‘just in case’ possibility that hasn’t occurred for ‘ages and ages’
 
For years I've been in the 'might need that later' camp but I know find myself sitting with heaps of equipment I've never used for ages, or only used once, so now having to go through the process of sorting and selling.
 
Nikon stuff is worth sod all these days so stick it all in a box and send it to me or the TP moderator slush fund.
 
I have just sold a load of gear that has sat in a cupboard unused for the last two years.
I have no regrets I am just going to spend the money on gear I will use now.
Bite the bullet and get rid,its only loosing money.
