Afternoon folks

I've read and read, and I think I have managed to suffer information overload.

Simply put, I have decided I want to get some triggers for my flashguns so I can start learning how to use them better. I currently have a single manual only trigger which is adequate but I want to be able to do more.

Currently I have the following flashguns for my 5DIII
600EX-RT
430 EXII
550 EX

I would like to be able to have ettl control over the flashguns as well as manual adjustments - and from the camera/transmitter would be even better. Initially I started looking at a 622-tx setup but after seeing so many other options I'm now not sure what the best for me is.

Suggestions welcome

You could do all that with a light-code master, like the Canon ST-E2 or similar, though I can only think of one advantage there - all the guns have receivers built in.

Radio would be much better - 622 x3, plus 622tx.

Wow, unanimous vote for the 622's - they must be pretty good.

Thanks for the vote of confidence in them - I shall pick some up shortly. Any recommendations on the best place - ideally UK based - to buy?

I went through Yongnuo on eBay it was painless.

Sure Amazon do them if you want UK though.

I bought my 622 tx from the eBay seller dream2buy a couple of weeks ago. Good price and fast uk dispatch.

I have 622s and have owned them since they came out. Very happy with mine, but I have a bucket full of 580exIIs.

You don't. If I were you (with a 5dIII and a 600exrt already), and given the spare coin, I would be looking at going all in Canon RT system with another 600, or possibly a Yongnuo YNE3RT transmitter.

I'm still amazed that Canon hasn't brought out a 4 series RT compatible gun to bring down the cost of RT entry.

Looks like the bay for me.

Kris, I would love to have the RT system - but the outlay is simply too much for my use. I came into the 600-RT as an insurance replacement for one of my pinched 550's otherwise I wouldn't even have that!

Although I may pick up the Yongnuo RT trigger for those times when just one light will do...
