Hi there, My name is Peter im 19 and I live in Shropshire right on the boarder of North Wales!

I'm only just getting into photography. I decided I wanted a DSLR after finding that I wanted more control over my photos than my old samsung compact could give me. I've got myself a Canon EOS 500D as the HD video function really stood out to me.
Ive spent a couple of days looking through the forums here and I can tell I have ALOT to learn!

I don't intend on taking up photography as a profession, just a hobby really.
I hope that gives you an idea about me so thanks for reading!

I know! Its scary is nt it?? Its taken me ages just to learn where to look for stuff. This forum is HUGE. Maybe as a newbie too, I will just lurk behind you cos you will be asking the same questions as me probably :D

Welcome to TP. Just ask, remember no such thing as a daft question (although you will get some daft answers). I new nothing about photography 2 years ago and now I'm...... well a bit better than I was.

Certainly is scary! all those figures, focal lengths, apertures, shutter speeds! :eek:
Yeah, soon as I have my camera (just waiting on postage) i'll start trying things out, thats when the questions will come!
