Thumbs up for Nikon UK service dept!

I took my 1.4x TC to Nikon UK a couple of weeks ago as one of the contact pins fell out whilst I was using it on holiday. Annoyingly the public can no longer visit the service centre but you can still leave items for repair with the desk downstairs. I dropped it off and had a quote last week for £42 which I rang to confirm. I asked the guy on the phone how long it would take to fix and he said it would be after the New Year now, which was fine. However this morning I get a knock at the door and Mr Parcel Delivery Man gives me a small brown box. I open it up and what do I find, my TC looking good as new with a replacement pin and the elements so clean they look brand spanking new (the TC is about 4 or 5 years old).

So, on this occassion at least, 3 cheers for the Nikon Service Dept :clap:

P.S. Not a very exciting story I know, but I'm at work on a late shift with nothing to do...!

Across the whole of the internet, far too many posts are rants about poor service from companies. It seems that we (myself included sometimes) are far too quick to pass comment about bad service/products. But when we have received good service, we tend to forget to mention it!


Thanks for taking some of your valuable time on a busy shift :D
 
Really pleased for you! Still waiting for my 28-70mm from them. They've had it since 9th Dec. I accepted the quote on the 12th.
But I work in the service industry and live in the real world and realise some things take time.
It takes time to repair a masterpiece of glass such as Nikon!! :D
Admitedly OTHER manufacturers would have done it quicker for a lesser piece of workmanship, but never Nikon.... :lol::lol:

When they're good, they are really really really good; when they're bad, they can be so annoyingly bad.

Glad your TC came back so soon and in good time.
