This sounds like fun - I am in!

I will be using film so possiby a week behind if I don't get things developed in a timely fashion so I hope being late isn't a spanking offence.

Perhaps if I do submit my first entry late that will take care of the "sin" part ;)

Regards

Mark

Hi ya , welcome aboard Mark......film eh...I'm fascinated by the stuff & how people managed to get some great shots with it...mine all used to go straight in the bin :bang:.....& as for spanking......:eek:

I hope being late isn't a spanking offence.

I'll never post early again :lol:

Ok, slow start but I decided I wanted to develop my entries myself and I haven't developed my own film for many years. So, without further ado.....

Week 2, Season;

Nice textures there and detail.

Few hot spots in there and I'm not keen on the positioning of the motar. Perhaps a slightly wider photograph with it at 4 or 8 o'clock?

Cheers.

I like this - great detail in the bowl, shadow and light, central composition pulled off to one side by the stick, nice details coming up from the woodblock worksurface below.

I think we can forgive blown highlights, not as if you can check the histogram after each shot is it? :thumbs:

Look forward to the rest as you can get them developed.

Thanks all - another roll awaiting developing here.

Histothinganybob...... ? Never heard of it!

Catching up here and just developed some more.

Sin needs little explanation;

This is my space. It is supposed to be a kid free zone but I seldom win on that one;

Nice work if you can get it;

Hi, Mark, cracking set there'd.

Sin...like this one. For purely artistic reasons, of course :naughty:
Gravity, well spotted and it's really messing with my eyes. Pity about the RH BG.
Wild, on theme and well composed. Nice movement in the water.
Space, another good one. Are they records on the RH side?
Work, well spotted. Great detail in the paintwork and nice bit of nostalgia.

No reall crit for me.

Cheers.

well done for catching up sin, gravity and work stand out for me :clap:

Well done catching up... All work well :thumbs:

Great job catching up on all of them, fantastic that you're developing your own shots for it.

Really like the gravity one, probably because it reminds me of some of my own DIY efforts. :)

Hi Mark ...great catch up :clap:

Space....I want one of those...looks perfect heaven

Wild...yup , looks quite wild to me , good detail with motion in the water & the wild bushes hanging down over the lock( least I think thats what it is-lock not bush)

Gravity....is that for really or some camera/pp trickery ? If it's for real it's pretty darn impressive & a great find

Sin....ooooh err....:schtum::lol:

Hi Mark :)

Well caught up - I had you down as AWOL :D

Quick round up from me...

Season - Nice detail, I'd have liked to see something in it, but I like the lighting/shadow in the mortar

Sin - Great composition and an effective DoF - nice shot for the theme :)

Gravity - WOW !!! what a great find, a great photo

Wild - a good sense of movement caught there !!!

Space - A great space there, screaming out for a Projector and screen :D

Work - Would be nice to see a bit more at the top, but an interesting spot of Chitty :thumbs:

Great work getting them all shot and developed :clap:

Mark, well done on all of these, especially for managing to get them all done on one day. I don't feel so bad now being 3 weeks behind, although I'm possibly about to be marked AWOL...

Sin... it's the little hand at the end and the really firm grip that makes the shot for me... and those not-jodhpur-clad legs :):):)

Gravity... really amazing. Again, it's the square door jammed into the wonky frame that makes this one for me. Well spotted, and taken.

Wild... yes it is wild, but not the class of the first two.

Space... I think we're all far too jealous to mention anything positive here; that window looks a bit blown to me and not showing off the million dollar stereo to its best advantage.:dummy: :p

Work... not sure I get the connection, but I really do like the shot.

Great set, Mark. You didn't say what the camera/film combination was? And if I was a real filmie I'd ask about your developing but I'd immediately show my ignorance!

Thanks all.

Season was taken earlier but the others were all taken on the same day. I had planned most but walked past wild on the way to take gravity and seized the opportunity to tick another off the list. Possibly not the strongest one as a result.

They are vinyl records on the right Andy and if a projector went in DK I think I would struggle to ever get any music time - the kids would be watching movies all the time.

Camera is a Minolta Dynax 9 Chris, film is HP5 and it was developed in Ilford chemicals following their standard instructions. Season was actually on the first roll I have developed myself since I was at school (I am 49!) so after a thirty year break I was quite pleasantly surprised with the results.

regards

Mark
