What does peanuts and monkeys spring to mind mean?

Oleg,

We say in the UK 'if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys' which basically means only stupid people will work for you if you pay too little. When somebody says 'peanuts & monkeys spring to mind', they are making reference to this saying! :D

although and though, what's the difference?

They are pretty much interchangable...............
"Although" is usually placed at the beginning of a sentence, whereas
"though" may occur elsewhere and is the more common term when used to link words or phrases (as in "wiser though poorer")

Although it is raining I will still go out

It raining but I will still go out though

Even I thought he'd soon get fed up with us constantly correcting every minor English infringement.

Speaking as someone who is partially hearing, that's a feeling I know all too well. Even though it is really for my benefit. :D :)

The trouble with learning any language is the "text book" style
