Thoughts on the Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC PZD

Does anyone have any experience with the Tamron 28-300mm PZD, a used one is a lot cheaper than the Nikon equivalent. Is there a good reason for that?

In a reply to your other thread I mentioned my experience with the Sigma 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3. They come up very cheaply so worth taking a punt if you can find one S/H.
