Looking for something small and cheap to take down mines/caves for long exposure light painting.

It's got to fit inside a backpack so less than 50cm (ideally closer to 40cm) when folded and likely to get very dirty with mud/grit, so I don't want something expensive.

Will be holding a 30D and Sigma 10-22 so not a heavy combo..

The Manfrotto MKC3-PO2 seems to fit the bill, anyone got any thoughts on it?

For a rig that light, maybe a beanbag arrangement would be the answer? Fill it with waterproof beads and away you go. There's a beanbag with a tripod screw attached called the Pod which might be the answer - it's fairly waterproof as far as the outer goes and it's filled with plastic pellets, again, easily washable. A Gorillapod is another option - the heavier duty ones (SLR Zoom and Focus IIRC) should work OK as a tripod or even better wrapped around rocks. They need some sort of head to be easily adjustable though.
