Thmaga(Sean!)'s 2011 52

[Thmaga]

Well I've been thinking weather or not to start one of these, I'm not sure I'll be able to follow each week's challenge along with my college work,
However i think it would be useful for me to post regularly on here with what I'm doing, and gain some inspiration from you lot and occasionally follow the themes set where I can!
I'll most likely be shooting the majority of my images on film.

As i've missed this week's theme I'll post one I took this week, and hopefully come back to "Accommodation" later in the year.

I took this first image whilst out doing some street photography for my current college project, this area of the town centre has an infestation of pigeons and their associated droppings, but it made a rather boring shot a bit more interesting!

Hi Sean,

Good luck with the 52 - I know you've had a bit of a wait for C&C, but with so many taking part it's easy to slip off the bottom of the page. Hopefully, you'll get some more views now you're back on page 1

Personally I think that you've picked a really strong subject for this and the backlighting from the sun has given a nice glow to his face and upper arm.
Not too sure on the lighting though. The foreground is too underexposed to reveal enough detail for it to stand out, but not dark enough to work as a silhouette - I think a firm decision to do either one or the other would have worked better.

I also think that circular subjects are really well suited to a square crop and central composition. That might be something worth playing around with - Id be tempted to crop to lose the lampposts either side and remove the distractions to the sides.
