I think it's a play on "we're your number 1" Trev ;)

I am confused? how can it be a play on word when "Where you're number one" doesn't make any sense, Where you number one needs to continue onto say something else to make sense.

Err, 'Where you are number 1'

What's wrong with it ???

I'm confused now as well

I took it to mean that the whatever the service is they're offering - the customer is number one - No? or am I being a total thicky???!!!

Nope, not thicky :) That's how I read it too, makes perfect sense as a buisness logo/motto.

Of course they could have saved space by putting it in in todays language ...

'ware u r #1'

some how I was reading You're but it was going into my head as your.

That's right they are a pharmaceutical company and I think they mean it as it states 'where you are (you're) number 1' (well there clients anyway, I don't think they personally give a toss about me :) )

I dont get it.......isnt it correct? Its saying that their business is where the customer is No 1?

I hope im not wrong and thats what all the posts above me say!

Ah - I get it now!!

Did someone think it meant to say "we're your number 1" ?

EDIT - yep!

It makes me laugh because the typography is appalling. The grammar on the other hand, seems fine.

I must admit, I thought they'd miss-spelt "we're your number 1"

:$:coat:

I think this is their 'joke', thing is, if people can be confused by the message - it's not a good message is it - and if people just think you can't write spelling & grammar correctly on your own van, why should they trust the work you offer?

More of an 'in' joke I think, but one that could backfire on them

It's fine grammatically, but if it's confusing this many people it's not a good slogan :D

WHERE YOU'RE NUMBER 1 - Translates to, we don't give a toss what you think about our van, if you like it or not and even if we have spelt it correctly just buy our stuff and keep us in the money cos we are a rip off drugs company who makes a fortune out of peoples illnesses.

Or am I just reading more into this sign than I should ?

To be honest I didn't read it as a play on the words of 'We're your number 1' at all.

There's an 'h' and no apostrophe in 'Where' and there's an apostrophe and an extra 'e' in you're.

It's not that hard to read it as Where You Are Number One.

I don't see the confusion.

Like I said before, the funny thing about it is the fugly typeface and terrible letter spacing.

ok seriously... agreed..
The slogan is utter pants and I wouldnt want to do any dealings with em:bonk::cuckoo:

could have been worse
"where you're #2"
would you rather be thought of as #1s or #2s?
or didn't you teach your children that way?

What it all boils down to is that these days most people have no idea of spelling or grammar.

The reader mistook the first two words as wrong in their heads and thought it had been written wrongly.

There is no play on words or pun at all... it is a perfectly ordinary statement.... Our business... "where you're No.1"

it is only that some people dont know the difference between the meaning and spelling or WE'RE, WHERE, & WERE..... and YOUR & YOU'RE that the problem arose in the first place.

BACK TO THE 3 R's IS WHAT I SAY..........READIN', RITIN' & RIFFMATIC!!!

I think it might be down to the e being on the blue background as well. I kept missing it as reading you're as your.
